US-Based MVB Bank Taps Bretton AI to Scale Fintech Compliance Without Adding Headcount

MVB Financial Corp.’s subsidiary MVB Bank has entered into a multi-year agreement with Bretton AI to expand its back-office compliance capabilities as it grows its fintech business. The partnership is designed to increase compliance capacity without requiring a corresponding increase in back-office headcount.

AI to Strengthen AML and KYC Operations

Under the agreement, a US-based Bretton AI team will use the company’s AI platform to support key compliance operations, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML) transaction monitoring, Know Your Customer (KYC) alerts and enhanced due diligence. The system is designed to operate within MVB Bank’s existing policies and risk framework.

Bretton AI’s platform uses AI agents to automate high-volume financial crime and compliance workflows. Its capabilities include transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, KYC/KYB reviews and enhanced due diligence, while maintaining audit trails and governance controls.

Scaling Fintech Operations With AI

MVB Bank is focused on supporting fintech companies through services including payments, card issuance, embedded finance and banking solutions. As fintech partnerships expand, banks can face growing compliance workloads and increasingly complex regulatory requirements.

The Bretton AI partnership aims to address this challenge by increasing operational throughput through automation rather than simply expanding the size of the compliance workforce. This reflects a broader shift in financial services toward AI-powered RegTech, where banks and fintechs are using intelligent automation to manage compliance more efficiently.

For MVB Bank, the agreement represents an effort to scale its fintech-focused banking operations while maintaining robust AML, KYC and risk-management processes.
